Stone Avenue Corridor Study
(1999 - 2001)
Tucson, Arizona
This study, performed for the City of Tucson Department of Transportation, considered a 6-mile long stretch of Stone Avenue, one of Tucson's earliest main streets now in need of revitalization. As the Architect on the team led by Parsons-Brinckerhoff, Vint consulted on Urban Design, Historic Preservation, and Public Art issues. This included developing a prototypical design for a mixed-use urban infill project on a "Brownfields site" -- the former Ellis Metals wrecking yard. A version of this concept is now being built. Vint also conducted an urban-form analysis and developed a list of potential historic structures along the corridor ("The Rolling Stone Trail").
