by Bob Vint & Christina Nuemann (218 p.)

Vint & Associates was selected by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development through a national competition to research and write a study on vernacular housing as it applies to the design of new housing. The study is published by H.U.D. for use by non-profit developers and their architects. The book, entitled Southwest Housing Traditions: Design, Materials, Performance, demonstrates appropriate regional design and construction materials and methods to improve the quality of affordable housing in the desert border region.
